The Italian govt is preparing to spend close to €10 billion in the semiconductor sector all over the yr, news agency Ansa reported, citing Field Minister Adolfo Urso.

In March, Urso announced an investment of €3.2 billion ($3.4 billion) by the Singaporean startup Silicon Box, to develop a chip manufacturing facility in the north of the state. The announcement came after the govt unsuccessful to persuade US-based mostly chip-maker giant Intel Corp. to spend. 

“I think that in the coming weeks we will be in a position to make other similarly sizeable announcements,” he also said, in accordance to neighborhood media.
